Personal Horror

A Personal Horror Has Occurred

Louis will notice that a large, black goat has started to appear around his home. It seems like a completely ordinary goat that has developed an attachment to Louis. It will clack after him and do the weird goat thing of climbing roofs or trees to be somewhat near him if it needs to. It will eat just about anything near it - grass, small animals, whatever people decide to feed to it. At first it seems like Louis has just gained another animal buddy in Deerington. It is a pretty cute goat.

But...Slowly, Louis will start to feel unusually obsessed with the goat once he starts to notice it. Yeah, it's easy to feel obsessed with a cute animal, but he will start to want to talk to the goat. Not just the normal chatting people do with pets, but really talk to it. He will start to hear a dark, silky voice reply to him, but only Louis can hear what's being said (and you can determine what's being said). The goat will slowly begin to manipulate Louis's thinking. When Louis has had a bad day and tells the goat about it, the goat will suggest he do something about it. Maybe get revenge, maybe start to think for himself.

And the thing is - it works. Gradually, Louis will begin to act for himself. Old fears and worries will rise up to the surface and he will start to want to reclaim them, start to acknowledge them in some aggressive way. He will start to be greedy, selfish, and he will start to only listen to the advice of the goat - whatever that nefarious advice it may be. Boy, is it nefarious. It may start off innocently enough, but the goat eventually pressures and convinces Louis to do steadily worse and worse things. It taints his mind, his personality.

The worse Louis gets, the more people directly connected to him will begin to feel unusually paranoid of him. People who are supposed to be close friends might begin to accuse him of things - will ask him if he is lying to them or if he did something against them. It will make Louis feel more isolated, more inclined to fall to the goat's whims because why shouldn't he? Everyone has abandoned him...!

Of course, not everyone has abandoned him. Some people might not be impacted by the goat's curse and will realize something wrong is going on. The solution is pretty simple: get rid of the goat. The goat is strong though, and it can start to warp other people's minds if they aren't careful, but the goat can be destroyed the same way any ordinary goat can be destroyed. Only when you "kill" this goat, there will be an enormous amount of black smoke that explodes out of both Louis and the goat. The smoke will dissipate into the sky, leaving behind a very exhausted Louis...and a completely ordinary black goat. Looks like both Louis and a normal goat just got a little screwed over there.
